marvel comics is putting an end to the flagship title with issue No. 544 in
> October as the brutal effects of the upcoming "X-Men: Schism" mini-series rends
> the team apart.
This issue is somewhat misnamed. Aftermath Part 1 focused on the immediate fallout of AoX, but this issue focused my attention more on how these character have matured since they were first introduced.  A more appropriate title would be "Where Bad Seeds Turn Good".

This Week's X-Comics: April 8, 2011

This week we got Avengers: The Children's Crusade #5, Uncanny X-Men #534.1, Wolverine/Hercules: Myths, Monsters & Mutants #2, Wolverine: The Best There Is #5.  We also got Skaar: King of the Savage Land #1, which IDK if that title counts or not, even though the Savage Land debuted way back in the early years of the X-Men.  Is Skaar a mutant or just half-alien?

Solicits for 12/2/10

Greetings, True Believers! Instead of your regularly-scheduled discussion and solicits post, this is a bit of housekeeping.

1.) Due to Thanksgiving last week, comics will come out on THURSDAY, December 2nd, this week in America. Don't make the mistake of going to your shop tomorrow!

2.) Marvel has redesigned their website, making putting together solicits confusing and a lot harder for your mods. In fact, in what I hope is just growing pains, Marvel's website lists completely different titles on sale this week than Diamond (the distributor) does. So Wolverine #4 may be coming out... or the premiere of new series Wolverine: Best There Is #1. Likewise, we may get Generation Hope #2... or we might get New Mutants Forever #5. It's a mess, so I'm just going to link you to the two lists: Marvel and Diamond. Your best bet is to go with Diamond, since they're the ones who physically send out the books, but I honestly don't know what's going on here.

3.) On that note, likeadeuce and I are in the search for new mods to take over our duties. While we've loved hosting this community, real life has gotten busier for both of us, and with Marvel seemingly determined to make our jobs more difficult, we think it may be a sign to move on. If you're interested, comment here or send one of us a DM, and we'll talk things over. If we can get two people who could communicate with each other to take the reins, that would be ideal.

In the meantime, feel free to discuss what you're getting, as usual, and talk about any X-comics that came out last week!

new comics discussion!

I'm continually impressed by how well Peter David keeps building his story in X-Factor. Not that I care about all the Asgardian-zombie drama, particularly, but Madrox and the gang dealing with them was fun, and I loved the Vegas look-and-feel of the book.

I haven't been following X-23 or Dark Wolverine, but I gather a lot of people are impressed with the direction of those books.

So what about you? What's capturing your attention lately?

Solicits for 11/17/10

X-comics! You know the drill.

It's a very Marjorie Liu week, with both DAKEN DARK WOLVERINE #3 and
X-23 #3 on the docket. The (vaguely NSFW) preview for X-23 is incredibly screwed up, but I'll confess I'm intrigued!

We also get X-FACTOR #211, which returns to the Vegas/Asgard story, and
X-MEN #5 with, presumably, more vampires.

Next, your Daily Weekly Deadpool Digest: DEADPOOL CORPS #8, DEADPOOL TP VOL 04 MONKEY BUSINESS, and DEADPOOLMAX #2 all hit stores this Wednesday.

And finally, a trade: SIEGE TP X-MEN, which collects some Dark Wolverine issuse and an issue of New Mutants.

So what are you getting?

Solicits for 11/10/10

In what may be the smallest X-week in recorded history (in a week where it seems like every Avengers book on the planet is coming out), we only have two books this week, both doses of Claremont Madness: NEW MUTANTS FOREVER #4 and X-MEN FOREVER 2 #11.

There's also an Ultimatum hardcover if that's your thing, and a trade of Darkstar and the Winter Guard, which is tangentially X-related.

Due to the small number of books, there won't be a discussion post next Monday, but I'm sure normality will resume with solicits next Tuesday.
